About Alan

Alan O’Brien is a Partner and leads the Financial Services Strategy and Transactions department of the firm, focused on providing transaction support to the financial services market. Alan has 15 years’ professional experience in the financial service market across both advisory and assurance. Prior to joining EY, he was a director in the transactions services department of another Big 4 firm advising domestic and international banking, wealth and asset management clients across a range of acquisitions, disposals and broader advisory projects.

Alan has a proven track record of successfully executing large complex financial transactions and supporting clients to deliver transformative projects using multi-disciplinary teams. His experience includes bankside AQR support, outsourcing of primary and special servicing of non-performing SME and CRE portfolios, disposal of loan and real estate portfolios and wind down and sale of non-core service divisions.

Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Accountancy from University College Dublin.
