James Maher is a Partner with EY Financial Services, having joined the European Actuarial Services practice in September 2010. James has over 20 years’ experience in reinsurance, delivering innovative risk solutions to clients throughout Europe and beyond.

James is a seasoned insurance professional leading our insurance practice in Ireland. James specialises in strategically motivated initiatives for our clients responding to regulatory change, commercial pressures and the changing landscape for insurance. As a risk and actuarial professional James takes a leading role with our reinsurance clients and key global reinsurance accounts.

James is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. He holds a BA in Management Science and Industrial System Studies from Trinity College and a diploma in Corporate Governance from UCD.
