About Dean

Dean Phillips is a Partner in EY’s Wealth and Asset Management Assurance practice, specialising in supporting investment managers and sponsor-backed businesses across the alternative investment sector. With over 20 years’ experience in Europe and the United States, Dean has extensive experience across private credit, private equity and real estate, working with asset managers and their portfolio companies on assurance, governance and reporting matters.

He has supported organisations through periods of significant growth, acquisition and integration, often operating in environments subject to active regulatory oversight, and has developed particular insight into the operating models of living, office, logistics, hospitality and healthcare real estate platforms, including REIT-structured property managers and operators across a range of residential and alternative real estate asset classes. Dean also has extensive experience working with finance and credit providers who provide finance through innovative royalty, intellectual property and alternative capital structures.

Having previously worked in EY’s New York practice, Dean brings an international perspective informed by experience with SEC- and PCAOB-registered audit engagements, US broker-dealers, listed asset managers and global alternative investment groups. He is particularly interested in how private capital is reshaping industries, led EY’s response to the Funds 2030 review and contributes to discussions on policy, competitiveness and the future direction of the private assets sector.

Based in Dublin, Dean is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Outside of work, he is a father to three young boys.
